Bangalore ICFAI Tech not recognised : It's BTech = Diploma
It couldn’t have been worse for these students. They were first promised a fancy MBA-BTech degree that was whittled down to a BTech, but have now been informed it will be a mere diploma.
The students of ICFAI Tech — 300 of them, protesting against the college for the past three days — have alleged that the BTech programme is not approved by the University Grants Commission.
“As far as UGC recognition is concerned, it is limited only to ICFAI Tech, Dehradun. They have six branches all over India, which are not under the ambit scope of UGC,” the students said in a letter to the chairperson of the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission.
The students have filed a complaint at the Mico Layout police station against the institute under IPC’s Section 420 (cheating). When contacted, one of the college faculty refused to comment on the issue.
