The Department of Electronics of the Government of India (DOE) is operating a Computer Education  Scheme, namely, the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC). The Scheme is the outcome of a Working Group set up by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which is the statutory body in the field of technical education. The AICTE has delegated the responsibility to DOE which has authorised the DOEACC Society to implement the scheme.

The DOEACC Society does not conduct any training classes for any of its courses. It only dectates the syllabus and conducts the examinations. Classes will be conducted by the DOEACC authorised computer training institutes and organisations in the non-formal sector.

However, working professionals can also appear in these examinations directly provided they possess the prescribed relevant experience and requisite education qualification, for the particular level.

There are four levels of courses under the Scheme.
• O  level a Foundation level,
• A  level an Advanced Diploma level,
• B  level an MCA level and
• C  level an M.Tech level in computer science.

Is it recognised by Government of India for jobs?

For the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central  Government,
recognition has been given by the government of  India to the
O-level as equalent to Foundation Course and
A-level as equivalent to Advanced Diploma Level Course
B-level as equivalent to MCA
However recognition for C-level is yet to be finalised.

They are called as Direct Candidates. For them Eligibility for taking exams = Basic Qualification Plus One year work experience  in Information Technology industry.	One Year	1 Programmer 2 EDP Officer  3 Assistant to Data Base Manager 4 Faculty for teaching  5 Laboratory Demonstrator

`B' Level	Basic Education Qualification required to do this course is pass in A-level exam or Government  recognised Polytechnic Engineering Diploma or PPDCA, PGDCA or a  Graduation Eligibility for taking exams = basic qualification plus  B-level course Or Candidates can even take exams without going for  A level course. They are called as Direct Candidates. For them Eligibility for taking exams = Government  recognised Polytechnic Engineering Diploma or Graduation Plus Three year work experience  in Information Technology industry. Or Government  recognised  PPDCA or PGDCA Plus Two year work experience  in Information Technology industry. There will exemption from some Subjects depending on the courses they have undergone. Those who have passed A-level exams, are exempted from first two semisters.	Three Years	1 System Analyst 2 Software Engineer 3 EDP Manager 4 Faculty to impart training 5 R&D Scientist

One and a half year	1 Project Manager 2 System Specialist /Manager 3 Faculty to impart training 4 R & D Scientist 5 Consultant

How to join the course or take the exams?

Registration is a pre-requisite for appearing in a DOEACC examination.Candidates should apply for registration in the prescribed form which are available at the DOEACC Society or its website here free of cost and can be obtained either in person or  through post. Also, clear photocopies of the registration form may be made use of.

A candidate can register at only one level at any point of time.The registration form duly filled in should be sent to the DOEACC Society with a photograph affixed thereon attested by a Gazetted Officer/Panchayat/Bank Officer/Centre Manager of an accredited institute and also an attested photocopy of the certificate of highest educational qualification attached. The registration fee for the level should also be sent.
Currently, the Registration fee is :
O level...........Rs. 50/-
A level...........Rs. 75/-
B level...........Rs. 100/-
C level...........Rs. 150/-

The DOEACC Society at New Delhi is the authority for registration for all levels.
Registration is open throughout the year. However, cut-off dates have been prescribed for receipt of completed registration forms. The current schedule of dates are :
